What is an IP-PBX and how can a CallBox I – PBX help your business or organization grow and save money.

What is an IPBX:

An IP PBX ( IPBX)  is a private branch exchange (telephone switching system within an enterprise) that switches calls between VoIP (voice over Internet Protocol or IP) users on local lines while allowing all users to share a certain number of external phone lines. The typical IP PBX can also switch calls between a VoIP user and a traditional telephone user, or between two traditional telephone users in the same way that a conventional PBX does.

One of the main advantages of an IP PBX is the fact that it employs converged data and voice networks. This means that Internet access, as well as VoIP communications and traditional telephone communications, are all possible using a single line to each user. This provides flexibility as an enterprise grows, and can also reduce long-term operation and maintenance costs

How will an IPBX help your business:

Providers of Hosted Voice, learned that by placing all the Phone registrations and signaling on a premise based system, they could mitigate the issues caused by latency on cable Internet circuits which affect call quality and certain advanced features like busy lamp fields and shared call appearance.  In the end, providers of Hosted Voice then found, they could also, offer more advanced features as well as resolve issues caused by intermittent issues on internet circuits.

Hosted Voice does not fit well in Medical and Law offices.  The inability to place a call on hold, “On a Line” where anyone can pick up the call at any time on any phone is critical to many offices. Hosted Voice only provides for the Transfer of a call, or the “Parking in the Cloud” of a call – which is ineffective due to the lack of any visible notification on any of the phones to let you know a call is on park.

Using an IPBX in your office can also cut costs.  If your office has 20 phones, a provider of Hosted Voice charges for each extension (phone).  The average price across the nation with various providers and feature packages is $34.95 per extension.  Therefore 20 extensions will cost $699.00  per month plus taxes.   Call Volume:  In many offices with 20 phones seldom is everyone on a phone at once.  The average statistics state a 4:1 Ratio.  An office with 20 phones would therefore need between 5 to 7 lines.

Taking 7 lines at $39.95 the cost is now only $279.65 saving $419.00 per month.  The larger the number of phones / extensions the greater the savings.

CallBox Customization:

We offer several different configurations of an IPBX to fit the needs of any business from 5 people to 2,500 people.   Each system is customized to fit your needs using customized versions of Asterisk, and the powerful Windows 10 version of 3CX.

All systems include a Three Year limited manufacture warranty against failure. See the warranty page for more and detailed information on our warranty and maintenance options.
